Our Team
Teaching throughout New Zealand
| Our instructors are responsible for running our training centres across New Zealand. They are committed to providing a great Shaolin Kung Fu experience to our students and undergo training, certification and vetting. This is so they have the skills and support needed to run the training centre and teach Kung Fu.
The term for instructor we use is Gowlian (教练) which is the Chinese term for coach or instructor. Those with the title of Sifu (師父) have a senior role in the system. Sifu means ‘teacher-father’ and denotes the responsibility they have within the Kung Fu ‘family’. The Instructors form the ‘Instructor committee’ which is chaired by Sifu Garath Roberts. The committee meets bi-monthly for training and operational decision making. All of our instructors take their role seriously and are committed to continual improvement. |

The Examiners
Maintaining the Art’s integrity
The examiners are the Shaolin Kung Fu Association’s most senior students and are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the Art in New Zealand.
The examiners are responsible for gradings, black belt development, and instructor development.
The examiners work with the Head of the system and the Chief Instructor to ensure that New Zealand is in line with international standards.
