I started training in Nam Pai Chuan at Whanganui in 2010. As a child I was a competitive gymnast and it had been some years since I had done any structured exercise. I was excited to join but was nervous to walk in the door. Once I did, I found the people welcoming and I loved my first class. After that I took every opportunity to learn and practice, at times training in classes six days per week.
A few years later I started teaching a combined children’s and adults’ class and I later opened a Peewee class for 4-7 year olds.
I love seeing people’s faces light up when they have achieved something that exceeds their own expectations and growing their confidence. This is what drives me to teach.
I am so happy that I have found an art with such a supportive environment and with a scope that I know I will never stop learning.
